ایک پوُرا جہان تھی پہلے ۔۔۔
یہ زمین آسمان تھی پہلے۔۔۔
راکھ ہو کر یقین آیا ہے۔۔۔
آگ وہم و گمان تھی پہلے۔۔
اُڑ رہی ہے جو آسمان پہ خاک۔۔
میرا خستہ مکان تھی پہلے۔۔
یہ جو بڑُھیا پڑی ہے کونے میں۔۔
اِس حویلی کی شان تھی پہلے۔۔۔
ہجر بکتا ہے اب جہاں پہ مِیاں۔۔
وصل کی یہ دکان تھی پہلے۔۔
اُڑنا سیکھا تو اب میں ڈرتا ہوں۔۔۔
کتنی اُونچی اُڑان تھی پہلے۔۔۔
آو مِلتے ہیں اب تسلی سے۔۔

Habs ko phailta dikha dil mein ...
phir ussay ja'baja bana ker la ...
Dard kuch la-dawa sa lagnay day ..
zakhm ko na'rasa bana ker la ..
jiss jaga per diya bana hai daikh ..
ab yahan per hawa bana ker la ..
chait ka chaand , chodhvii'n ki raat !!
jheel ka aaina bana ker laa ..
aankh mein rung bhar annabi sa..
phir ussi ko khafa bana ker la ...
ik musaafir thaka hua sa orr...
dur tak raasta bana ker la...
door tak ghoorti hui ankhein ..

Atif Javed Atif’s collection of
poems ‘Darr Lagta Hai” released
Atif Javed Atif is a young but
matured upcoming Urdu poet. He deals basically in ‘nazm’ form and writes
thought-provoking poems in chaste and simple Urdu language, which can be easily
assimilated across the world among Urdu readers. Recently, Atif Javed Atif’s
collection of poems – Darr Lagta Hai – was released at a grand function at Adabi
Baithak Alhamrah Arts Council, Lahore.
The function was presided over by Baqi Ahmedpuri while Ali Asghar Abbas, Farhat
Abbas Shah were the guests of honour. Those who threw light on the life
and works of Atif Javed Atif included Khalid Ahmed , Hassan Arif Syed , Shahida
Dilawar Shah , Shehzad Nayyer , Tasneem Kousar , Tariq Munir , Aftab Khan ,
Maqsood Ahmed Chughtai and others.
The function was largely

Lahore: (March 2011) A Mushaira
was held in Apwa Girls College, Lahore. Famous poets and column writer Mr. Nasir
Bashir was Meer-e-Mushaira while College Principal Dr
Shariqa Nasreen presided over the function. Poets who recited their poetry were Nasir Bashir, Arshad
Shaheen, Atif Javed Atif , Ahmed Subhani Akaash, Agha Muzammil, Priyata Bita ,
Shazia Mughal , Mansoor Faiz, Irfan Sadiq, Adnan Bashir, Ayesha Tasleem, Kunwar
Imtiaz Ahmed, Ahmed Ata, Hammad Niazi, Shahid Bilal ...
Another cession was also
conducted in which college students recited poetry of famous late poets.
Atif Javed Atif recited his famous Poem "Facebook"
from his latest book "Darr Lagta hai" written on the world of internet , which was very much appriciated and
Principal Doc. Shariqa Said that it is the voice of young generation.
