Poet Muslim Saleem and Thumbay Moideen nominated as IKFS Patrons


Kuwait : An Industrialist and Philanthropist, as well as the Founder President of Ajman based Thumbay Group, Haji Thumbay Moideen and Poet, Muslim Saleem, a world famed Urdu poet and winner of Madhya Pradesh’s  Multi-Awards in “ Majalis Moshahira” have been nominated as the Two Patrons of Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society.

Haji Thumbay Moideen who hails from Karnataka State has built “ The Thumbay Group UAE” as an international business conglomerate with its head quarters in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. The group has progressed vigorously over the years and is managed by highly experienced professionals headed by the group President, Haji Thumbay Moideen. His Multi-National Business group employs more than 1,500 personals. Thumbay Moideen has featured among the top 100 most influential Indians in the Middle East in a 2010 survey undertaken by The Arabian Business Magazine, and has appeared as cover story in the International Magazine in April 2011 issue.
He got “Best Achievement Award” from the “Ruler of Sharjah H.H Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi”. The “Mayura Award” for ‘Achievements in the field of Medical Education & Healthcare’ by Karnataka Sangha, and many more International awards.
Muslim Saleem, hails from Madhya Pradesh, but was brought up and educated in Aligarh. He is a poet, writer and journalist of Urdu, English and Hindi. He has written byline stories as M Saleem and Muslim Saleem in scores of Urdu, Hindi and English newspapers and journals. He has recently retired as news editor of Hindustan Times, a reputed English daily from Bhopal. His Ghazals and short stories have been published in various prestigious magazines and newspapers including Sha’ir, Aahang, Aagahi, Naya Daur, Asri Adab, Awaz etc. His short story ‘Nangi Sadak Par’ was aired by Urdu Majlis of All India Radio in 1979. His collection of Ghazals named ‘Amad Amad’ has been published by Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy. He has been contributing as poet, feature writer and short story writer to AIR Allahabad and Bhopal. He is the only journalist who has written news and articles in three languages including English, Urdu and Hindi. He is the grandnephew of famous Urdu critic and philosopher Khalifa Abdul Hakeem and son of great poet Dr Saleem Wahid Saleem. Since 2010 Muslim Saleem has compiled various directories of Urdu poets and writers of Urdu in India before and after the British rule of India.Janab Muslim Saleem has won several awards: Afsana “Nangi Sadak Par” at Aligarh Muslim University, “Yad-e-Basit Mushaira” at Bhopal. He was also honoured at Allahabad during “Ek Shaam Muslim Saleem Ke Naam”. Several special Issues of bilingual magazine “Adabi Kiran” are published on his poetry.
" Both Haji Thumbay Moideen and Poet Muslim Saleem in their consent letters addressed to IKFS President Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor indicated that they are very much honored to be part of Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society(www.indo-kuwaitfriendshipsociety.com) for further enhancing of community relationship and extending friendships in Kuwait, as they felt that IKFS is considered as an advocacy group dedicated to safeguarding India’s pluralist and tolerant ethos and front runner of bringing various NRI issues with the appropriate authorities in India as well. Both Haji Thumbay Moideen and Poet Muslim Saleem appreciated IKFS team’s efforts for preserving both Arab and Indian cultural identities in live activities. There are so far 21 patrons representing many of India’s 28 states including few from Kuwait. As per the constitution, 5 distinguished personalities from each Indian state would be nominated by the committee. Some of our Patrons, such as Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS,Advocate R B Sree Kumar IPS , Dr. Biswaroop Choudhury are represented from different States in India ", said Advocate Sayid Nizar, Vice President and legal advisor of IKFS
