It is an admitted fact that the more a nation is interested in the literature and arts of another nation, the greater is the friendship and affection for that nation. As long as the Arabs were ignorant of languages other than their own, they fought shy of even the mention of the names of other nations, but with the advent of Islam, they studied foreign languages and acquired a knowledge of the arts and sciences of other peoples, with the result that they stood forth as examples of enlightenment, free from prejudice and full of toleration.

Tributes to Shahryar by Muslim Saleem and Barqi Azmi

Bhopal, February 14, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan) : A condolence meeting was held at the residence of famous Urdu poet and writer Muslim Saleem at Bhopal where rich tributes were paid to noted Urdu poet Shahryar who passed away at Aligarh on March 13, 2012. Shahryar was Muslim Saleem’s teacher in Urdu Department, Arts Faculty, AMU Aligarh in 1972. Meanwhile, Ahmad Ali Barqi Azmi has paid poetic tributes to Shahryar.

Mazhar Imam passes away - tributes by Barqi Azmi and Muslim Saleem

Bhopal, January 30, 2012 (Ataullah Faizan) : Poet and writer Amhad Ali Barqi Azmi has paid poetic tributes to noted Urdu poet Mazhar Imam. A condolence meeting was also held at Bhopal where tributes were paid to the departed soul. The meeting was presided over by Mulsim Saleem. Mazhar Imam  breathed his last at New Delhi on Monday.He was 83 and is survived by wife, a daughter and a son.
